Our Sustainability Commitments

Historic Buildings Are Inherently Sustainable
Many of our hotels have stood for generations, reflecting the enduring quality and character of these historic buildings. By preserving and maintaining existing properties, we can help reduce waste while protecting their unique heritage for future generations.
Alongside this, we remain committed to reducing our environmental impact through responsible practices and ongoing improvements across our hotels.
Our Green Policy
We are committed to reducing our environmental impact while continuing to provide a comfortable and enjoyable experience for our guests.
Across our hotels, staff receive regular training on sustainable working practices, and we encourage responsible energy use through our switch off policy for lighting and electrical equipment. We also continue to introduce environmentally responsible products where practical, work to minimise food waste, and regularly review our sustainability initiatives.
How Guests Can Help
Small actions can make a difference during your stay. Guests can help by:
- Switching off lights and televisions when leaving their room
- Turning off taps when not in use
- Recycling newspapers and paper where facilities are available
- Supporting our towel and linen policy by placing used towels in the bath when replacements are required
Exploring Local Areas The Green Way
Our reception teams can provide information to help guests explore the local area on foot, by bicycle, or using public transport.
Walking and cycling information may be available, alongside details about local attractions, visitor information, and public transport options.
Our Environmental Actions
We continue to incorporate sustainability into our everyday decision making. This includes encouraging recycling wherever facilities are available, using environmentally responsible cleaning products where possible, and reducing paper consumption through digital communication and double sided printing.
Ongoing Improvements
We regularly review our environmental practices and look for opportunities to improve.
Current initiatives include improving energy efficiency through LED lighting and other energy saving technologies, supporting seasonal and locally sourced produce where possible, increasing the use of recycled paper and digital communications, and identifying opportunities to reduce water consumption through efficient fixtures and maintenance.
We are also expanding the information available to help guests make more sustainable travel choices.
Sustainability In Food & Beverage
Sustainability plays an important role in our food and beverage offering. We aim to reduce our environmental impact, support local suppliers where practical, and promote responsible sourcing.
Across our hotels, we work to minimise food waste, use seasonal and locally sourced produce where possible, offer plant based dining options, and design menus that make efficient use of ingredients to help reduce unnecessary waste.
Get Involved
We welcome feedback from our guests as we continue to improve our environmental performance.
If you have any suggestions, please speak to a member of our team or contact the hotel directly.
Thank you for supporting our commitment to a more sustainable future.
